Think Chorlton looks a bit scruffy? Then help do something about it!
Keep Manchester Tidy (KMT) is a partnership between Manchester City Council and Keep Britain Tidy. One of the partnership’s key roles is to help with the annual Great British Spring Clean , which takes place between Friday 13 March and Sunday 29 March.
You can pledge to take part from Friday 13 February via Keep Britain Tidy’s website .
You can also borrow equipment for the Great British Spring Clean from Keep Manchester Tidy. Complete a form . Chorlton’s Neighbourhoods Team will be happy to help too – contact the Neighbourhoods Team.

The Council is bringing together residents, schools, businesses, community groups and organisations to:
- Tackle littering and flytipping
- Prevent dog-fouling
- Improve green spaces and waterways
- Increase recycling
- Improve our local environment
- Increase the number of nurseries, schools and colleges taking part in their eco schools programme.
To get involved with Keep Manchester Tidy and help out, you can:
- Contact groups in your area
- Pick up litter in your area. Email keepmanchestertidy@manchester.gov.uk to request equipment and support
- Request a bag collection after your litter pick
- Find out about litter picking events by joining the Keep Manchester Tidy Facebook Group
- Get help to arrange an event. The Council can host corporate volunteer groups. Please email keepmanchestertidy@manchester.gov.uk
- Apply to the neighbourhood investment fund for help if you are planning a project.
