Working together in Chorlton

We have worked to commission new street art for Chorlton, bringing colour to a grey day

It feels like the wettest, greyest, windiest of days today, so it’s wonderful to see the blazing,  showstopping colourwork of artist Callum Simmons when we’re out shopping.

Callum has brought some much needed colour and beauty to the two junction boxes by Bridgfords estate agents, on Barlow Moor Road (near the junction with Groby Road). You probably never even knew they were there – but you sure do now!

Our Co-chair Steph Moore (from Reach Out to the Community) has worked with the City Council Neighbourhoods Team,  and Chorlton Civic Society to brighten up our streets. This is the third of four new art commissions.

Next up? It’s a big one – the bridge by the tram station, so we can offer a real welcome to residents, visitors and commuters to and from Chorlton. It’s been a very tough couple of years here and we’re delighted to be a part of restoring a little sunshine.

Huge thanks to all involved –  especially the brilliant artist, Callum Simmons. If your life needs a bit of colour, you’ll find his work at callumsimmons.co.uk or follow him on Insta – @piicasa
