Originally set up to support the community during the Covid pandemic, the Chorlton Bike Deliveries team has pedalled its way from strength to strength!
The worker-led cooperative now offer a range of services, from essential NHS deliveries to charity collections, food bank pick-ups and commercial deliveries for forward-thinking businesses who want to reduce their carbon footprint. They collect bikes for refugees, operate a bike library to improve access to cycling for all, deliver Christmas trees, collect recyclable items…. the list goes on. If it can be carried on a bike or a cargo bike, then there’ll be a high-vis-clad volunteer to carry it!
The team also operates trishaw rides, especially for older people, giving them the sense of having the wind in their hair without the hard work of pedalling.
