Working together in Chorlton

On 15 October 2023, the Manchester Half Marathon will mean road closures in Chorlton.

Manchester & Trafford will welcome around 16,000 participants, all aiming to achieve their personal goal of completing a half marathon, as well as raising money for both local and national charities.

Traffic management planning with the council and Transport for Greater Manchester is ongoing, but we can confirm the pictured route, which is the same as the 2022 event. It’s likely that roads in question will be closed from early morning until early evening.

The race will come into Chorlton from the West – along Edge Lane, then Wilbraham Road. It will take a left at the Four Banks and then head northwards up Manchester Road, before going up Seymour Grove and the finish line at Lancashire County Cricket Club on Warwick Road.

It’s a brilliant event and it’s great that it comes through our district centre, so come along, line the route and help cheer on the athletes!  More information at manchesterhalfmarathon.co.uk
