ICYMI – a letter from the council about resurfacing taking place in late July / early August 2024.

When we consulted on how to spend our budgets, Manchester people said: get roads and pavements up to standard – and keep them that way. We’ve listened and drafted programmes of works to improve our roads and pavements.

Improving Your Streets

We’re pleased to inform you that Barlow Moor Road, between Mauldeth Road West and Wilbraham Road, is included in the improvement work. The works are going to be carried out in two phases.

Phase 1 – High Lane to Wilbraham Road

Works are due to commence on Monday 29 July 2024 and are expected to take one week to complete. The working hours will be 07:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 17:00 Saturdays and Sundays.

To facilitate the works, Barlow Moor Road between, High Lane and Wilbraham Road, will be closed to traffic. Diversions and Traffic Marshalls will be in place to assist access for residents and deliveries.

Phase 2 – Mauldeth Road West to High Lane

Works are due to commence on Monday 5th August 2024 and are expected to take two weeks to complete. The working hours will be 07:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 to 17:00 Saturdays and Sundays.

As with Phase 1, to facilitate the works Barlow Moor Road, between Mauldeth Road West and High Lane, will be closed to traffic. Diversions and Traffic Marshalls will be in place to assist access for residents and deliveries

Resurfacing work

The road is going to be resurfaced, which will consist of removing the existing surface, adjusting the carriageway ironwork and the laying of a new surface. J. Hopkins (Contractors) Ltd will be carrying out the works on behalf of Manchester City Council.
