Sunday 3 December saw Chorlton District Centre light up for Christmas – with a little help from our good friends at Redeemer and the Royal Oak
Jack Frost might have been nipping at noses, but Chorlton’s big switch-on offered the warmest of welcomes to all. There were market stalls with local traders, live music from a fabulously festive brass band, carol singing and tons of family-friendly fun. Mince pies and mulled wine kept spirits up until a very special guest (dressed in red…) made an appearance for the all-important switch-on.
HUGE thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the party happen – Greg Willson and the amazing, can-do volunteers from Redeemer Church for organising well…. pretty much everything! Thanks also to the City Council and councillors for help with funding, logistics, district centre lights and more; to the whole team at the Royal Oak – landlord Chris, Liz, Mark and Charlotte – who were fantastic supporters and hosts. And to you – the hundreds and hundreds of Chorlton people who came along.
It’s been a tough year for Chorlton’s shops, bars and eateries. Please do support your local High Street independents and shop local whenever you can this Christmas. Perhaps put a Chorlton Gift Voucher or two on your list!
And from Chorlton Traders and all of our partners – a very happy Christmas!!!
