We know where you live

The Chorlton Map is here! Pick one up in pretty much any shop, bar, cafe or library. You may think you don’t need it because you live here, but think again. The map’s a great reminder of all the wonderful and tasty things on offer here in M21: you may find something you never knew about, or feel encouraged to try something different. You can also see which traders offer exclusive deals and discounts to TAG! card holders and save yourself a Chorlton pound or two. 30,000 maps have been printed, some are for Chorltonians; others will make their way out to other parts of town and beyond; promoting our area as a great place to shop, play and visit. We’ll also be putting large maps at key points around the centre as a handy guide for visitors.

Chorlton Book Festival

As a Traders’ Association, we’re proud to support local celebrations and our next partnership is with Chorlton Book Festival (20-28 November). We’ll be running a raffle to raise funds – can you help? If you can contribute a prize, we’d love to hear from you. Tickets will be on sale in the library 17 October – 28 November. The draw takes place on 30 November.

Chorlton. Gift-wrapped

Do you love Chorlton? Want to share that love this Christmas? We strongly suspect there may be no finer present than a Chorlton Gift Voucher. We’re working on a local independent scheme at the moment, where you can buy a voucher to exchange for lovely things from participating retailers. A TAG card slipped inside the envelope will give year-round Chorlton deals too. More information to follow.

Have a heart

Our members have been volunteering for CPR and First Aid training in support of the new defibrillators (which can help re-start a heart) purchased for Chorlton by Jenny Slee. They’re now in Epicerie Ludo on Beech Road; Co-operative Food on Wilbraham Road and soon – we hope – in the Co-ops on Barlow Moor Road (near High and Hardy Lanes). There’s a unit at Wilbraham St Ninian’s too, under the care of Chorlton Good Neighbours. If you’re Chorlton-based and would like to volunteer, contact us.
